The Arkansas Scholars program begins with presentations to second semester 8th graders (or, in some cases, first semester 9th graders). In a classroom setting, local business leaders show students a PowerPoint presentation that provides information on the importance of education to the students’ future. The presentation also covers the criteria for becoming an Arkansas Scholar.

All local presenters must receive training prior to making this presentation to students. Previous presenters may provide the training or, if requested, the Arkansas Scholars program staff will conduct a training session in the community.
